You’ll Have To Deal With Me

You’ll Have To Deal With Me is a song written and performed by Justin Schwenk. This track was produced and mixed by me in the fall of 2010. This powerful pop song about a member of the paparazzi is lyrically complex and thought provoking. I helped arrange this song with Justin and spent countless hours helping coach just the right vocal performance with him. This song was recorded by Ryan Monette and features Justin Schwenk on vocals and guitars, Mike Ball on bass, Mitch White on drums, and Alex Wright on organ and piano.

Real Love

Real Love is a song written and performed by Patrick Taylor. This Ryan Monette production was recorded and mixed by me in the fall of 2010. The song stylistically has a pop, country, male, Taylor Swift like feel. The song went through many revisions over the fall season due to the efforts of both Ryan and Patrick, and ultimately I sonically pieced together their shared vision. The song features Patrick Taylor on vocals, mandolin, and guitars, Ryan Monette on bass, Caleb Gilbreath on drums, and Alex Wright on organ.

December

December is a song written and performed by Berklee student band Future Vince. I recorded and mixed this track in November, 2010: it was tracked on a Tuesday morning and mixed on the following Thursday. The recording session began with the entire band playing together, after which only the vocals needed to be overdubbed. This high energy ballad by Future Vince features powerful electric guitars (list the players) and voice of band leader Julian Fotre.

Henry, Roll it Again

Henry, Roll it Again is a piece by the Jake Sherman (Guitar). The track was recorded and mixed by me from June to August of 2010. The track was taught to the players on the spot by Jake, and a little studio magic helped them gain their immense confidence. The piece features a unique EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) solo and some of the most locked-in drum sounds I have ever recorded.

Vital Transformation

Vital Transformation is a piece by the Mahavishnu Orchestra. The track was produced by me in June 2010. The style of recording I chose was what is known as a Live-to-2 Mix. This style involves no overdubs or mixing, meaning everything has to be just right in the moment; musically and sonically. The piece features Ben Levin on Guitar, Madelaine Ripley on Violin, Josh Friedman on Keys, Mike Ball on Bass, Shawn Crowder on Drums, and incredible engineering skills of Noah Schy.

On and On

On and On is a piece by Erykah Badu. This R&B song features an emphasis on piano and vocal backgrounds. It also features a heavy kick drum and a laid back feel. The track was mixed by me in June 2010 and features the Dennis Montgomery Ensemble.

Joy Spring

Joy Spring is a Clifford Brown tune. This version was recorded and mixed by me in June 2010. The piece was recorded with the group all playing together with no overdubs. Playing on this recording are Jake Sherman on guitar, Rodney Bush on piano, Frank Ojeda on bass, and singing is Laura LeBlanc.
